Andrea Nicolini
Andrea Nicolini (b. 2000) is an Italian artist, product designer and the founder of Metalmorphosis Studio, an independent project focused on the creation of furniture and sculptural objects in metal. Working primarily with steel, Nicolini develops pieces that exist between functional design and sculptural presence, exploring the relationship between structure, material and the human body. His work often draws from anatomical and industrial references, where structural elements become the foundation for furniture forms.
Metalmorphosis Studio
The Studio was founded with the intention of rethinking the role of furniture within contemporary space. In a context where many design objects have become purely aesthetic elements often reduced to visual decoration or backdrops. Metalmorphosis aims to create objects that possess a physical and conceptual presence.
Each piece is conceived as part of a dialogue between space, object and person, where furniture becomes an active element capable of shaping the atmosphere of its environment.

Design Philosophy
The core of Nicolini’s practice lies in a process of subtraction.
By reducing forms to their essential structural elements, the work aims to reveal what normally remains invisible: tension, balance and emotional charge.
Metal becomes the central medium of this research.
Cold, rigid and industrial by nature, it is transformed through manual processes into objects that appear almost skeletal, where structure itself becomes the visual language.
Practice
All works are entirely handcrafted in mild steel, combining traditional fabrication techniques and the most advanced technologies available trough a sculptural approach to form. The practice spans across collectible design furniture and metal sculptures, developed through ongoing series such as Anatomy_, Geometry_, and Human_Traces_. With this kind of approach we are available to follow all the parts of the commissions at 360°, from the design with the most advanced softwares till the last part of the logistics; and in speciale cases even the full assemblying of the piece on the spot.
